Con el objetivo de promover el buen trato hacia las personas mayores y prevenir situaciones de maltrato y discriminación, el Servicio Nacional del Adulto Mayor (SENAMA) llevó a cabo una ceremonia de firma del “Compromiso por el Buen Trato a las Personas Mayores”. La iniciativa se enmarca dentro del Segundo Plan Nacional de Derechos Humanos que lidera la Subdivisión de Promoción de Derechos de SENAMA.
A través de este compromiso, las instituciones adherentes se comprometen a implementar el Decálogo de Buen Trato al Adulto Mayor, con el fin de fomentar un envejecimiento digno, activo y saludable, avanzando hacia una sociedad más inclusiva y respetuosa que reconozca a las personas mayores como sujetos de derechos.
En esta oportunidad, ocho instituciones, tanto públicas como privadas, firmaron su adhesión: Instituto de Previsión Social (IPS/ChileAtiende), SEGEGOB, Servicio Nacional de Turismo (SERNATUR), Correos de Chile, Metro de Santiago, Nuevo Pudahuel, Farmacias Cruz Verde y AIEP. A ellas se suman la Universidad de Talca Sede Santiago, Senior Suites, el Registro Civil e Identificación y Espacio Urbano, que habían suscrito el compromiso durante el primer semestre de este año.
Previo a la firma, las instituciones recibieron una capacitación por parte de SENAMA, en la que se entregaron orientaciones para un trato informado y no discriminatorio, especialmente en espacios de atención directa al público.
La directora (s) de SENAMA, Karen Caiceo, lideró la actividad y destacó: “Estamos muy contentos desde el servicio por esta firma de compromiso y poder convocar a otras entidades con las que trabajamos habitualmente. Dentro de muy poco seremos el país más envejecido de la región, por lo tanto, este compromiso debe ser un acuerdo de todos: Estado, sociedad civil y ámbito privado”.
Con la adhesión a este decálogo, las instituciones se convierten en agentes activos en la defensa y cumplimiento de los derechos de las personas mayores, reforzando su rol en la transformación social que impulsa este plan.
