ONG Pather Nostrum inauguró el Centro de Atención Infanto-Juvenil San Vito. Este espacio promueve inclusión y desarrollo integral para menores de 1 hasta los 17 años y 11 meses de edad, con necesidades especiales.
El centro fusiona los otrora programas de Atención Temprana y Centro de Estimulación, heredando de esta manera una matrícula de casi 130 usuarios que requieren atención especializada.
Francisca Maldonado, psicóloga y coordinadora de dicho programa del Departamento de Educación e Infancia de ONG Pather Nostrum, destacó la importancia del proyecto. «San Vito ofrece atenciones integrales centradas en el desarrollo pleno», sostuvo.
Entre los servicios destacan el Taller de Habilidades Sociales, a lo que se suman terapias individuales y grupales en psicología, fonoaudiología y terapia ocupacional.
Además, los profesionales que conducen dicho centro cuentan con las certificaciones requeridas para realizar evaluaciones especializadas ADOS-2 y WISC-V.
La edificación que cobijará este Centro de Atención se erige en los terrenos traseros de la casa matriz de ONG Pather Nostrum, institución donde en la actualidad acogen las actividades, servicios y atenciones de este programa.
Para el buen funcionamiento de este programa, la institución requiere del apoyo solidario de la comunidad. Quienes deseen colaborar pueden hacerlo donando materiales esenciales para las terapias, como juguetes didácticos, papelería de colores, lápices, crayones y otros insumos necesarios. Las donaciones serán recibidas en la sede principal ubicada en Luis Cruchaga #457, Curacaví.
