En una emotiva ceremonia celebrada este martes 22 de julio, el Comité Paralímpico de Chile reconoció a los principales exponentes del deporte adaptado nacional durante su segunda Gala Anual. El evento contó con la presencia del Presidente Gabriel Boric, quien encabezó un homenaje especial a los medallistas de los recientes Juegos Paralímpicos de París 2024.
Durante su discurso, el mandatario destacó el rol transformador del movimiento paralímpico: «Su labor trasciende lo deportivo; han quebrado barreras de discriminación y abierto caminos irreversibles hacia la inclusión», afirmó, comprometiendo el apoyo del Estado para fortalecer este ecosistema.
El jefe de Estado también se refirió a los próximos Juegos Parapanamericanos Juveniles 2025 -que por primera vez se realizarán en Chile-, destacando cómo estos eventos potencian el desarrollo deportivo nacional: «Cada medallista representa a miles de jóvenes que encuentran en el deporte una herramienta de superación».
La velada incluyó distinciones a deportistas, entrenadores y disciplinas sobresalientes, consolidándose como un espacio para visibilizar los logros y desafíos del deporte adaptado chileno.
