La cadena de supermercados Unimarc —filial de SMU— ha adoptado la iniciativa «Hora Silenciosa» en más de 200 locales a lo largo de 14 regiones del país, con el objetivo de brindar un ambiente de compra más tranquilo y accesible para personas con Trastorno del Espectro Autista (TEA) y otras condiciones neurodivergentes.
La medida, inspirada en un proyecto impulsado originalmente por la Municipalidad de Traiguén, se aplica diariamente entre las 15:00 y 16:00 horas. Durante este período, se reducen los estímulos sensoriales mediante acciones como:
Disminución del volumen de las radios
Ajuste en la intensidad de las luces
Reducción de sonidos en cajas y sistemas de altavoces
Actualmente, la iniciativa está presente en regiones como Arica y Parinacota, Tarapacá, Antofagasta, Atacama, Coquimbo, Valparaíso, Metropolitana, O’Higgins, Maule, Ñuble, Biobío, La Araucanía, Los Lagos y Los Ríos. Solo en la Región Metropolitana, cerca de 50 tiendas ya forman parte del programa.
Gerardo Salinas, gerente de Personas de Unimarc, destacó: «Comenzamos a implementar la Hora Silenciosa el año pasado, y hoy opera en más del 75% de nuestros locales. Esto va acompañado de capacitaciones a nuestros colaboradores y difusión para sensibilizar a los clientes sobre las necesidades de las personas con TEA».
Con esta medida, Unimarc reafirma su compromiso con la inclusión y accesibilidad, promoviendo espacios comerciales más respetuosos y conscientes de la diversidad.
